Early lessons in the pleasures of the table

On Tuesdays and Thursdays when I pick up Lilah from her Boulder Journey school at 3, we come directly to Niwot to my house and have tea. After our tour in December of the Celestial Seasonings plant, where we had to wear hairnets to tour the work areas, we sampled lots of kids of herbal tea and decided that we like the taste of the Lemon Zinger the best. We always have fruit and cookies and usually two different kinds of each so we can talk about texture and compare the flavors. We discuss dipping, which Lilah enjoys immensely. And sometimes we have an extra person join us--like little cousin Eileen Beatrice Corr from Bangkok, Thailand. Lilah calls her "Leenie Bea" and teaches her English. Leenie Bea picks it up quickly. " I want cookie! Please." she smiles.
